License Sentinel
Find the Jira accounts with no recent activity, before you renew.
Licenses are bought for people, but people leave projects, change teams and stop working in Jira. License Sentinel works out each person's last activity from what they did in Jira and lists the accounts that look unused, so you can review them before a renewal.
What it does
- Reads the history of your issues in the projects it is allowed to browse, and notes who created, commented on, logged work on or changed each one, and when. It keeps only an account ID and the latest dates per person.
- Needs no API key and nothing to connect. It runs on Atlassian Forge, makes no connection outside Atlassian, and stores no credential.
- You choose what "stale" means. Set the number of days from 1 to 365. An account is called stale only once the app has read the history back far enough. Until then it says unknown, so you are never told someone is idle on the strength of history that has not been read.
- Keep what should stay. Mark service accounts and similar as kept, with an optional reason and end date, and they are left out of the stale count.
- Counts over time show whether the number of stale accounts is going down.
- Read-only. It never changes, suspends or removes an account. Each row can link to the account's page in Atlassian Administration, where you act.
- Delete everything, any time, with one button.
What it cannot tell you. It estimates activity, not logins. Someone who only views issues, boards or dashboards leaves no trace, so a stale account is a person to review, not proof they do not use Jira. Only Jira and Jira Service Management activity in projects the app can browse is counted. Confluence is not.
